Guadalajara, Jal, November 2021.- “Follow your dreams” is a quote that Aryna Sabalenka wrote on her Instagram. This week, it becomes a reality because is she set to play in the #AKRONWTA Finals.

Sabalenka earned her spot to participate in the tournament by placing second in the Porsche Race to the WTA Finals. “I’m doing well, and I don’t want to stop. I want to keep improving. I’m very excited to be in my first Finals. For me, it is something this is very big,” Aryna said a few days ago.

This year, the Belarusian won the tournaments in Abu Dhabi and Madrid. She also reached the semifinals of Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. In doubles, she won the Australian Open alongside the Belgian Elise Mertens. In total, she has won 10 singles titles and 6 doubles titles. She has a 44-16 win/loss record in singles this season. Most recently, she reached the quarterfinals of the Kremlin Cup; this was her first tournament back after she got sick with COVID-19.

The 23-year-old Belarusian is a fan of ice hockey and boxing. The tattoo on her right arm has a very simple meaning: she was born in 1998 which is the year of the tiger. Sometimes on the court, she feels like that, so she decided to make it permanent on her skin. To motivate herself before matches, she focuses on thinking that she is the best and that she is playing at this level because she deserves it. She earned the right to be playing among the best in the world.

Sabalenka is one of the strongest players going into the #AKRONWTA Finals in Guadalajara. She has reached her best ranking yet and is ready to compete with the same fierceness of a tiger.
