The AKRON Stadium is ready to host the matches starting on Wednesday. The Czech Karolina Pliskova and the Spaniard Paula Badosa where the first players to have an opportunity to train together on the stadium court today. Their practice lasted an hour and a half. Additional singles players to compete on the center stage were the Greek Maria Sakkari, Spaniard Garbiñe Muguruza, the Polish Iga Swiatek, the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka,the Czech Barbora Krejcikova, and Estonian Anett Kontaveit. Later, doubles players, like the Croatian Darija Jurak, Slovenian Andreja Klepac, the Mexican Giuliana Olmos and the Canadian Sharon Fichman were able to hit on the center court as well.
The finishing touches are being made by all the players ahead of the AKRON WTA Finals Guadalajara 2021; the day started at 10am and ended shortly after 7:30 pm. A total of 20 players practiced at different times throughout the day at the Akron Stadium which is located at the Metropolitan Tennis Complex.
